About Us

I began my career in the HVAC (Heating and Air Conditioning) industry in 1973. I started from the ground up…literally. After years of working my way up the ladder from apprentice, installer, foreman, service technician, service manager, HVAC designer, and finally general manager of a large mechanical contracting firm, I felt it was the right time to start my own business. I opened my business in 1989 as a 1 man operation. Over the years the business grew by leaps and bounds and became a multi-million dollar business with thousands of satisfied customers.

In the early days as a service technician, venturing into a crawl space was a daily task and in many instances full of adventure. It wasn’t uncommon to encounter mice, crickets, snakes, opossums, black widow spiders and last but not least, mold and plenty of it. I learned not to be surprised because after all, I was invading their perfect domain…a dark, cool, moist crawl space.

During those days as a technician, I was constantly plagued with sneezing, coughing, and watering eyes to say the least. I just assumed I had allergies and learned to live with it. As my company grew I moved more into the management side of things and spent more time in the office than in crawl spaces, the strangest thing happened. No more sneezing, coughing, and watering eyes. It was then that I realized all my ailments and respiratory problems came from my exposure to the nasty things I encountered in the crawl space.

Certified Radon and Mold Inspectors

My job was to take care of my customers, so I decided to learn as much as I could about the science relating to moisture, mold, and crawl spaces. After many years of study, I have obtained many national certifications such as Certified Mold Inspector and Assessor, Certified Mold Sampler, Certified Water Restoration Technician, Certified Radon Measurement Technician, Certified Thermal Infrared Thermographer, Certified Building Performance Analyst, and Certified Closed Crawl Space Encapsulation Design and Installation Specialist. Most of these certifications require annual continuing education classes and testing to stay current with any changes in the particular field.

After performing many mold investigations, I find that in many cases, if not most, the problems in the living space are a result of problems in the crawl space migrating inside. The good news is it can be fixed. If you have any concerns about mold, mildew, or moisture issues and would like an evaluation of your crawl space please give me a call today at 919-872-8351.
